There are many philosophies for birth preparation, and I would even say that some of them are great. But what if that philosophy only prepares you to give birth one way? What if that specific tool you were taught doesn’t work for you in the middle of your labor? This is why I created an independent childbirth education class. I was tired of watching my families consider their births failures because they made different choices in birth or they had a difficult time transitioning during postpartum when their original birth plans needed to change.

When you register for my childbirth education class, you’ll receive a handbook full of helpful information and homework to guide you into preparing for your labor and baby’s birth. There’s no one size fits all approach here! You’ll get a crash course on the brain, how it operates in stress, labor and how we can retrain it to cut down on anxiety. You’ll learn what actually causes pain in labor and how to train like an athlete for a better labor experience….and I don’t mean physically, I mean mentally!

We’ll discuss how to pick a birth team and location that’s the best fit for your family. You’ll learn how to advocate, make informed decisions on hot topics in the birth room and how to navigate your baby’s birth when plans need to change.

Positioning, breathing, your anatomy and hormone hacking, as well as hands on practice of labor coping techniques are just a sampling of what we’ll pack into this comprehensive class! Still not sure if it’s the right fit for you? This class is for families choosing hospital, birth center or homebirth. Families looking for multiple tools to use in labor and most importantly, families who want to understand what informed decision making looks like. Hot topics with varying opinions in the birth field will be discussed in a safe environment so you can ask questions and get unbiased answers.

Birth Way's Childbirth Education class is $250.  Families looking for private in-home classes should reach out directly and will incur an additional traveling fee.
